We provide a relaxing and anxiety free experience for certain people receiving dental treatment who are too afraid to receive dental care.
Types of Sedatives at Diestel & Partners
We provide two types of sedative in our clinic.
Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas):
It is a safe and effective sedative agent that is mixed with oxygen and inhaled through a small mask that fits over your nose to help you relax.
Intravenous Sedation (IV Sedation)/Monitored Anesthesia Care (MAC):
This Anesthesia varies based on your level of anxiety and the type of exam or procedure you are having. All MAC-related procedures are done under the supervision of a licensed Anaesthetist.
Procedure:
Monitored Anesthesia Care is a type of anesthesia during which a patient is sedated through an IV.
The patient is typically still aware but very relaxed. IV sedation is usually reserved for patients who are very anxious about a dental visit. It works quickly, It's easy to adjust the dose given, and the sedative has a long period of amnesia and you won't remember what happened during your dental visit or treatment.
